We wore our best disco outfits at the Alice Awards this year… We honored Congressman Blumenauer and our other transportation leaders… We came together to fund the lifesaving work of The Street Trust!

If you felt inspired by our community and our work to create safer, more just and accountable transportation in Oregon, please make a generous gift to The Street Trust today.

Nafisa Fai

Originally the “Alice B. Toeclips Award,” this honor is given to an individual or organization who tirelessly and effectively advance the The Street Trust’s mission of a complete, safe, low-carbon, multimodal transportation system that contributes to equity in access, opportunity, health, and prosperity for people and communities.

Commissioner Fai has been a relentless champion for The Street Trust’s mission, focusing on transportation equity and justice. She works hard to reduce crashes and injuries while alleviating congestion in her community. We had the great pleasure of working beside her on efforts to improve Farmington Road, which has brought critical safety improvements to this deadly street with urgency.

Thuy Tran

Presented this year by Multnomah County Health Department’s Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health (REACH) Program, The Elizabeth Award is named after school teacher Elizabeth Jennings Graham who successfully challenged racist streetcar policies in New York City in 1854. This award is given to a community member or organization actively championing transportation justice and equity.

We are so grateful for Representative Tran’s efforts alongside The Street Trust to advance access, equity and safety via her support for a multi-use path along the levee in Parkrose/Argay Terrace neighborhoods (aka the Columbia Levee Connector) where she serves on The Street Trust’s public safety committee. She committed wholeheartedly to visiting rural and urban communities as part of the 2024 Statewide Transportation Safety and Sustainability Outreach Tour.
